I don't even know to describe our life since Luke was born. It has been a crazy whirlwind of craziness. There is so much to say and no time to say it all. In the next month or so it will all change again. Things will calm down again and I will do a proper update. For now here is Luke. He is rad. Now I'm of f to easybake.

He is so cute. I am obsessed. He has been so wonderfully sleepy. Except when he is naked, which made newborn naked pictures a challenge. I would dare say Luke was the most difficult newborn I have photographed. We are talking screaming bloody murder when the littlest piece of clothing comes off. Poor guy.

So we broke out the big guns. We had a giant heating blanket AND an industrial fan for white noise. Worked like a charm :)

So much so that said fan is now a semi-permanent resident in our bedroom thank you very much.

We finally got our family pictures hung just in time to have Lukey join our family and have to replace some of them :) We did leave one empty for an updated picture.

We've been getting ready for Halloween, but really we want to just jump ahead to Christmas!

We were remodeling the new house last year at Christmas time and so we didn't get out a single decoration, which for us, was tragic. We are going to make up for it this year.

Even Abbey has been helping. She decorated this little web all by herself (and by herself I mean Zach helped.) She is very proud.

We replaced our front door and we just had to make a new wreath to do it justice. I love it. I got all the tutorials from pinterest.com

Welcome Mr. Luke

Luke joined our family 9/17 at 11:52 pm. He weighs 7 lbs and is 19 inches. He is darling and tiny and so sleepy! We are so happy to have him healthy and home.

Here is video of when Abbey came to meet him. It is by far the cutest thing I have or ever will see.

No real photos yet, but here are some purchases and my own creations.

First we wanted to pay tribute to our favorite Ben Folds with some lyrics from one of our favorite songs. It was a song he wrote for his son. We just used the first line "Good morning son, I am a bird..." (we decided the chorus "It sucks to grow up" was too depressing to be in a baby's room.)

Next print is from Momo Prints on Etsy.com. (Have I mentioned I heart Etsy? Well I do.)

We printed the Young Women's theme for Abbey's room and wanted something to compliment it for Luke. After much consideration I saw this print of D&C 4 and thought it was perfect...but in red.

The rest is just another work in progress, but I couldn't wait to share these!

Since last pics we have added drawer and cabinet pulls and finished the backsplash. I am in love!

In this space there was a fireplace and a useless tiny nook. Zach took the fireplace out and put in these cabinets. They are AMAZING! So much storage I could cry. They still need some trim work and extra wood to connect the cabinets so there isn't a random floating one in the middle and under the sides will be faux drawer fronts that lift for dvd and cd storage. And for the beautiful shelf arrangements I owe all my gratitude to my friend Rachel Peterson. She is amazing. I would have cluttered them all up, but she kept them simple. Every time I look at them I feel cool. Thanks Rach!

Happy Summer

We have been having a fun busy summer. Here are a few shots from Bear Lake. We were spoiled enough to spend 10 days straight there! It was awesome! It's been so beautiful with the water all the way. I just look out and feel so nostalgic.

What else have we been up to?

-growing a baby :)

-fun afternoons at the local splash pad

-trying to stay cool

-playing in our brand new playhouse! (its way too hot outside so I made Zach set it up inside in the basement.) Thanks Zabriskie cousins!

-working, working, working. blah.

-getting Abbeys room set up and decorated. She loves her big girl bed!

-Abbey is potty training

-Getting Luke's nursery ready

-choosing paint colors. I honestly can't make up my mind. It's awful.

-Zach transferring to work from home. Yay for us! We love it!

-Endless other house projects involving yard planning, building furniture, painting furniture, installing shelves.

More pictures to share. I wish I could promise they would be posted, but we'll see. It isn't often I sit to process pictures lately. So, I'll try? I know you are all just DYING to see more pictures of our little family :)

We are so excited for baby Luke to come. I have 8 more weeks to go and have been so excited and nervous and sore (is everyone's second pregnancy a million times worse?! Okay I'm exaggerating, but common.) We are so grateful that he is on his way. It is overwhelming at times to think of all the years we waited and to just have another surprise blessing when we weren't sure we'd have any. It is absolutely amazing.

Abbey seems to be getting that a baby is on his way. I still can't decide if she will be overjoyed with a baby in the house or completely jealous. Probably a little of both.

Abbey is amazing. Perhaps I'm a little biased but I swear she is the cutest smartest funniest girl on the planet! I feel so lucky to be her mom.

A little about Abbey now

-She loves daddy more than anything on the planet.

-She is super attached to her blanket and binkie

-adores M.ickey Mouse

-loves to run

-is obsessed with her indepence. "do it! do it!" means she thinks she can do it herself. A lot of things she can. Some things she thinks she can, but cannot include tying her shoes, playing whatever song I'm playing on the piano, cutting up veggies, reaching the top shelves in the kitchen, and doing whatever project Zach is working on. And when she realizes that she can't do it? A dramatic fit of tears (luckily short lived.) Except for tying her shoes, she thinks she does it every time. Too funny.

-loves watering the plants and herself

-loves the idea of the splash pad, but mostly watches the other kids and will splash her hands in the water.

-hates sharing unless its her veggies

-is picky at home with food, but if she sees anyone other than mom or dad eating, will give it a try.

-loves the color blue and often requests wearing it, eating off of it, drinking out of it, or bathing in it. Yes the color.

-she loves to identify who's is who's. ie. Abbey's cup, mommy's cup, daddy's cup. Abbey's shirt, mommy's shirt, daddy's shirt. You get it.

-Has an ever growing vocab. We love her little words and sentences! Here are some of our favorites.

Hod you = hold me

mimmie = minnie mouse

gain! gain! = do whatever amazingly fun thing you are doing with me again

bobby= her blanket

ginky=binkie

baby luke = all of her dolls

poop! dowa! = means she's about to go #2 on her dora panties or pull ups.

Can I just say I love toddlers. I suppose I'm biased since I have one of my own, but I would love to be like them. Everything to a 2 year old is amazing and entertaining. We have had an amazingly crazy time since November. In November we bought a new house. It was a mess (which is a major understatement) so we had to tear out everything and start over. It has been a challenge to say the least. We moved in to it on January 1st and just love it. There are MANY projects still to be done, but we love the never ending project.

Since we were packing, moving, & remodeling we had no Christmas decor at our house. No tree. It was sad and made for an odd season. This was at our ward's Christmas party. We realized that since we had no Christmas out at our house we hadn't talked about Santa at all with Abbey. Needless to say she was totally freaked out we were handing her off to some strange man.

Like I said, we really tore everything out. I wish I had the actual before pictures of how the house was. It was so disgusting I think I would feel bad to post them. It was shocking to see how they were living in this house. So sad for the kids. I think the pets ruled the house.

Above are pictures of after we tore out some cabinets in the kitchen and all of the floors.

Aaaahhhh. So much better. I love my new kitchen. Since this picture we have also added can lights and a back splash (Zach is actually doing that right now as I blog.)

So as if that all wasn't crazy enough, two weeks after we moved in I found out that I am pregnant again! Holy ~~crap~~ cow! (Abbey has picked up saying crap, I say it too much...She copies everything!) We did not expect to be pregnant again, especially so soon. We had even started talking about going to the fertility clinic again in May. I am completely overwhelmed at this unexpected blessing, we are thrilled.

This is Abbey's surprise face.

Abbey adapted to moving extremely well. It helped that we spend two months renovating before we moved in. She was very used to being at our new home. She loves all the space and the stairs to climb. She has a little ikea kitchen in the kitchen. She loves to make us pancakes :)

In March we went to the local aquarium. Abbey always likes the people more than the animals. I swear she'd walk off with just about anyone. She is so social and loves attention. She loved playing in the water and was excited to stand by the fake penguins. She had zero interest in the real ones which had just been fed and were being really cute. Oh well.

We have loved having some sunny days here and there. Abbey loves the park and is learning to play with her little friends. This is her friend Mayara.

With Easter around the corner our house always has peeps. I decided to let Abbey have a couple. The first one she took very tiny bites trying it out. I guess she decided she liked it because the second one went in her mouth in one fast bite. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her marshmallow cheeks!

Abbey loves our piano. I think she will have a talent for it. She plays it so nicely. If I play with her she will copy how I hold my hands. If I play one note at a time, so will she. If I am playing chords, she tries to play chords. It's very cute. And she can be very serious about it. It's amazing to me that she doesn't just bang on it, sometimes it actually sounds pretty, like she's really playing something!

In the picture above she was trying to put on socks and she glanced up. When she concentrates hard she sticks out her tongue. I did the same thing growing up.

I was trying so hard to get her to smile, but she just kept telling me what she was playing was sad. This is her sad face. So much emotion in my little pianist. I think it's hilarious! I love her sad face!

I just loved this random picture of the rush to get ready Sunday morning.

Friday Zach took some time off and we all went to the zoo! Abbey has spend days talking about the biiiiig elephants, showing us how they eat, and talking about the ducks and the monkeys jumping. She loved the little park and the big snake slide.

Looking for a family to adopt our old home :)

I have been M.I.A. forever now. So many changes. We are finally in our new place (pictures will come soon I promise) and getting settled in. That is going slower than I would like because we are trying to rent our old beloved home. I can't believe how many calls I get everyday, it's like a full time job!

I am going to miss that house. It had so many things I loved about it.

I will miss the lilac bush in the back. The smell reminds me of my great grandmother. I will miss the whole yard!

I will miss that everything we had want to do was done. I loved the changes we made to the house. It's bittersweet to start over.

I loved my front door.

I love the french doors into the piano room. And I LOVED our house at Christmas time.


I will miss our fireplace. It was my favorite thing Zach did to improve our house. P.S> Grandpa's who play Wii are awesome.

I will miss being in the home we have made all our memories in.

I will miss Abbey's room. We put our heart and soul into it and spent years thinking about how we wanted it to be. I will miss being in the place we got to bring her home.

I will miss her room a lot :)

So glad that I get to take Abbey and Zach with me :)


I will miss the bay in my kitchen where I have been able to do countless photo shoots.

All of that being said, I am very excited to be in the place where I know we will make the rest of our memories. <3

Where exactly are these going you may ask? We are moving, and so excited. We feel extremely grateful for this opportunity, totally a right time, right place kind of thing. We got a steal on a great house that just needs a lot of TLC, it was EXTREMELY neglected (ie entire basement was a litter box, true story.) So far we've been able to paint a little (the Peterson's rock), have carpet removed, tear out vinyl floors, and clean, clean, clean. All my time there so far has been cleaning the fridge and glass top portion of gas stove. It only took some clorox wipes, windex, glass top stove cleaner, oven cleaner, magic erasers, and razor blades. Thank heavens for magic erasers and razor blades! At one point I thought we might actually have to just get new appliances *tear* but everything is coming clean minus the dishwasher. Sigh.
The house also came with a creature in the basement (to be determined). But that is a whole other story...
Anyway, I will post some before pictures later and some after pictures much, MUCH later (like January?).

We celebrated the 4th with my family at Bear Lake. It was delightful as always.

Abbey has perfected crawling and stood on her own a couple times. Once she realized she was standing, she sat down.

She is just my favorite thing in the entire world. I just adore her. I think about how hard it was to get her here. I only wish I could have known how amazing she would be, I would have been more patient. But that's the rub isn't it. I'm so grateful she is here. I am grateful for her darling (and wet) kisses, her happy blinking, her constant babble that fills our home with happy sound.

I can't wait for her birthday. I wish she would stay little, but her party will be darling :)

The beginnings of our summer

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in over a month.

We have been having a blast! Lots of fun, some sad things too though.

This is going to be a long one, so hang on for the ride.

So, what have we been up to?

I finished our bathroom cabinets. I actually finished the same week I blogged about it, but never posted, so here you go. I love them. I can't wait to do the kitchen!

Abbey got sunglasses. She is super cute.

Abbey made some messes. She's always pretty happy about them.

We enjoyed our lilacs in our yard. I had fresh lilacs for nearly a month in my kitchen. It was delightful.

We visited Bear Lake over Memorial Day. It was SUPER cold. This was Abbey's first trip out to the water. It was short. This was also J.J.'s last trip to Bear Lake. He loved Bear Lake. More about him later.

Grandpa tore a tendon or something in his arm a while ago (perhaps years ago?) and so now when he flexes it's like Popeye's muscle. This is just random and funny to me.

Abbey's been working hard on growing her hair out :)

She finally has enough for piggies!

She is not as excited as I am about it.

She spent a lot of time just being beautiful. She crawled backwards for about a month and a half before she figured out forwards. (Forwards just happened about 2 weeks ago.)

Abbey started giving kisses. She is more generous with them towards her teddy bears and her reflection.

We went to Park City for Zach's birthday and our anniversary. The hotel we stayed at had a wonderful indoor pool so we took Abbey swimming for the first time. She looks grumpy here, but actually she really loved it. She just kicked her legs the whole time trying to make herself bounce. To. Cute.

It was so nice to get away. We love staying in hotels. It's wonderful to have maid service and room service. It was such a treat! Look how happy it made me :)

This is quite sad. J.J. got to be too much for our little family to deal with. We just felt like he wasn't a great fit anymore. It was a really hard decision to make but we decided to find him a new home, a new family to love him. But when we took him in to get his shots our vet said that he really isn't the ideal family dog. She said that J.J. would bite someone one day and that he had no fear. She recommended that he be euthanized. It was a really hard thing to do, but we would have felt awful if Abbey or anyone else was hurt. These shots are of J.J. on his last morning with us. He rested for most of the morning, but before we left he got to play in the hose in the back yard which was his favorite thing in the world. Then on our way to the vet we stopped at Arby's so he could have a roast beef sandwich all to himself. And that's all I have to say about that. We miss him.

The next day we went to Bear Lake with our friends the Peterson's. It was just what we needed, we had a marvelous time.

Zach taught us how to play Kubb (pronounced [kʉb). It is a cross between bowling and horseshoes. It was a lot of fun!

But it started to drag a little and Rachel and I started talking about throwing the game. You can see how excited we are. It really is a lot of fun, but I would suggest putting a time limit on it.

Then we headed to the beach for some reading and golf.

My handsome hubby :) I'm so lucky.

Abbey was cute some more.

This is one of our favorite faces she makes. If you look at this face from above you can see that her lips come out past her nose. It's very impressive. This face is usually accompanied by a lot of spitting.

She showed off some by pulling herself up on just about everything.

She loves having grandma around to read to her whenever she likes. She loves her books with babies in them.

It was a beautiful day that Saturday so some more friends, the Hamatake's, joined us for the day.

There was both digging and throwing of sand and water. It made for good times.

I love Fox's little swim trunks. He thought it was hilarious to collect and throw water on his mom.

So darling. Dad and son.

Harper kept trying to tidy up the beach. She kept pushing sand back in the hole saying "it's a mess."

Then there was break to rest and get warmed up.

So cute!

The next day we took Abbey down to wade in the water and check out the sand. She didn't seem to care that the water was so cold (in the 40's!) and wanted to dive in.

She had her first slow and short ride on the 4-wheeler.

And then we came home. So happy to be home. This is Abbey's squinty happy face. She does it mostly in the morning at breakfast. She looks like Genie from I dream of Genie because she nods her head and blinks. It's so funny.

This week we had mom and tot swim lessons. She had them with her best friend Emerie and cousin Bronson. It was so much fun! She learned to blow bubbles, hang on the side of the pool, sit on the edge and jump in, and she tried really hard to pull herself up and out of the pool. We tried to teach her to spit out the water but after the first day at the pool the only time she has decided to spit has been at breakfast. Yay me. Abbey loves swimming. As soon as her feet hit the water she grins from ear to ear. I'm so glad she loves it and isn't afraid :)

And now we are pretty much beat and it's only July!

So this week I swear to the blogosphere that I, Jen, will start AND finish my guest bathroom cabinets AND blog about them. (providing that the weather is nice enough to open windows oil based paint is naaasty.) They will be a yummy color called Hot Cocoa. So dear friends, if May 2nd comes and there is no update, please oh please, get on my case. I want to get all my indoor crafts done so I can work on my gardens completely free from indoor guilt.

As I was documenting this adorable duck lips face Abbey makes when she tries to drink from a straw (it's amazing right? Those lips? My my) when Zach came home. Before he even announced that he was home she saw him.

She just loves Zach. She can be in a rotten mood and he makes everything better. I just love how her face lights up when she sees him.

As for us. I decided to learn to crochet. I really wanted to learn so that I didn't have to pay $80 for a baby cocoon. I still haven't made one, but have made some pretties for Abbey.

They are kind of addicting. I almost couldn't stop myself.

Almost.

So I decided to move onto something else and started an afghan inspired by THIS. (Have you seen this website? It makes me want to live in the country in England, her home is lovely, her life seems lovely, a breath of fresh air!) I'm pretty excited about it, but it will probably take a lifetime to make. Especially since I'm notorious for starting projects and not finishing, but I have goals, lofty goals, to put that bad habit to bed.

Other projects that are on my to do list:

Paint both bathroom cabinets and kitchen cabinets. (Did you know that maple yellows? It's true, and ugly.)

Laundry room: wall paper 1 wall and fancy up, put in new cabinets and countertop.

Make this wreath, but maybe a more springy color. This one is made of almonds, any idea of something that would have the same cool look but be 100% cheaper?

And other things. I really want to paint everything. I'm driving Zach nuts. We've been in our house 6 years now and I look at my living room and just think "Ugh, this was so 5 years ago." I need a change :) I think I want it all to be lighter and brighter. I feel like it doesn't reflect who I am anymore. Anyway, all changes will be posted, I can hardly wait.

Have you seen the movie Can't Hardly Wait? I heart Ethan Embry.

I am so excited that summer is nearing. I'm itching to be at Bear Lake. I can't wait to take Abbey. It's been so nice to be able to actually leave our house and go outside. I'm so excited for her to explore this spring and see the world. Yea summer! Come quicker!!!

I can't believe how fast 6 months has gone by. I can't believe what a lovely lady she is turning into. It was a rocky start (she cried for 2 months straight-LITERALLY) but has turned into such a pleasant, easy going happy baby.

A few things we love about our Abbey dear

She loves to eat and is an amazing eater. She loves everything, especially applesauce, yams, and her wheat or oatmeal cereal. Breakfast and dinner come complete with lots of yummy noises too!

She has recently started sitting up on her own. She loves sitting on her blanket with a basket of toys. She pulls one out examines it thoroughly, and sets it to her side. She's very methodical about it, it's darling.

She is oh so very ticklish. Her feet (tops and bottoms), under arms, under her neck, her knees, and really all over.

She has a very selective sense of humor. Something is usually only really funny once. After that you get a face that clearly says, "ya, that was kind of funny" but no giggles.

She loves when dad comes home, she gets excited and has more smiles than she's had all day. It's so cute!

We love her so much and feel so blessed to have her in our family. I wonder all the time what it is like for her. What it is like to be that little, to be in our family. If she's happy, if she misses where she came from. I'm so grateful she chose the plan of salvation, I'm so proud she made that choice. Some people say that they don't remember what they ever did before their child came, but I remember. It makes her being here so much sweeter.

Everyday I look at Abbey and it amazes me how much she looks like Zach. Everyone I know is amazed at how much she looks like Zach. I came across this photo of myself when I was 8 months old and found some similarities in to Abbey. It was reassuring that she was my child :) -That made me laugh out loud a little-

So not as much as she looks like Zach, but she definitely has my nose and mouth. Only she's cuter. I hope that when she's 8 months old she has that amazing curly cue coming from the top of my head. How cool is that? On an 8 month old? Amazing.

That picture of Abbey is so glum, here is a better one. This is one of the many cute shower gifts she got, I can't believe she's big enough to wear it!

Miss Mayara came over and we did her 6 month pictures and it was a blast! I am in love with this girl (and her mom Jessica). It doesn't hurt that May thinks I'm hilarious :)
She is a beauty, her eyes are just amazing, and her little (not so little) chunky legs are to die for.

This was my first time using a paper back drop and I am thrilled with how it turned out.

This is one of my favorite families in the entire world. I went to high school with Rachel (bottom right). We were in Chamber choir together and SOOO popular :) Anywho, this family is hilarious and I had the best time, despite the 16 degree weather.

We're obsessed. She is just more amazing everyday. I am just so grateful that she is here.

This time last year I decided I would concentrate on the miracle that was Christ's birth. I thought a lot about miracles and asked myself if they really happened today. Of course they do, but the really tough question was did I believe that I deserved a miracle in my life. Did I believe a miracle could really happen in my life. Wondering everyday if we would have children was so hard. After nearly 6 years that was the hardest question I could ask myself.

I'm not sure when, but one night I couldn't sleep and stayed up and just thought about it for hours. The love I felt from Heavenly Father was overwhelming. We mattered, I mattered to our Heavenly Father. How I felt mattered. I was worthy of a miracle, we all are. It was almost too much, too hard to admit that to myself.

We got a miracle. I still can hardly believe it. It seems like a dream. It's completely amazing to hold Abbey, to hold an answer to so many prayers, our miracle.

So this year I reflect again on the miracle of the birth of Christ. I have a new respect for Mary and Joseph, what they experienced. I can't imagine with all the conveniences we have what it was like for them. I'm so grateful for their willingness and dedication in raising the Son of God. I'm so grateful for our Savior and what he has done for us. I'm grateful for the atonement in my life. Not only can we repent and be forgiven, but our burdens can be lighter. He has done so much for us, I hope we can remember Him this season and believe in miracles today.

Seriously, every time I look at her it takes my breath away. Abbey's blessing was beautiful and we had such a fun family day. We prayed and held our breaths that she wouldn't cry through the blessing, and she didn't, she was a doll! Zach was nervous, but did fantastic. I was so proud of my two favorite people! Abbey looked beautiful. Her dress is sentimental, it was the dress I was blessed in. I am so grateful my grandmother saved it, it made it so special to see her in it :)

I would be 100% sure all the weight she's gaining is going straight to her cheeks if she wasn't getting taller. I know I've said it and will say it again and again, but I can't believe how fast she changes. It's crazy!
Abbey is smiling more, it just melts your heart and makes it all worth it. We learn more about her little personality every day. Mostly we've learned that it's not so little :)

Abbey will go from pleasant and happy to screaming in less than a second. When she wants something, she wants it then and it is no less than tragic if she is kept waiting. She's pretty quiet when she's happy. When she starts to get bugged is when she speaks up. She has the tiniest little whines and whimpers that are so fake it's hilarious.

Her favorite place in the whole house is her changing table. She looks around and happy talks. It's just darling. She loves getting cleaned up and is so happy afterwards.

Miss Abbey - 5 weeks

Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks and kiss those lips! She's just delicious! I just love her to pieces!
She has changed so much, it's just amazing. The once loose skin on her legs are now full and chunky and her cheeks are bigger than ever. Her dark hair has started growing in blond. And her personality is growing bigger every day. I am in awe of her every day. I still can't believe she's here.
We are having a sick day. It's sad to hear her stuffy nose :( BUT she's sleeping like a dream. She even slept all night last night. It was delightful.
And she started smiling on purpose. What's even better, when I pulled out the camera, she thought it was funny. How great is that, she actually laughed at my camera!

I can't believe how fast these two weeks have gone! I can't believe Abbey is 2 weeks old, it breaks my heart a little! Her cheeks are already a little chubbier. They really don't stay the same for long. To me, she looks more and more like Zach everyday. I love it! Zach has been able to be home for the last two weeks and it's been amazing. He has been amazing, I feel so blessed to have him. I have been in heaven with all of our family time :)
Abbey is like a dream. She's just darling and so sweet. And for now, she is an amazing sleeper. I expect that will change though, it's just too good to be true.
Here are a few pictures, it's a million times harder to pick pictures of her to put on here than it is of clients. Every single one is cute to me. I have some other favorites, but will post another day. I have to pick one for announcements first :)

30 weeks

Photo courtesy of my iMac which is so embarrassing. I need to get real ones done, but I'm lazy or pregnant and tired.

Crazy. That's all I can say. This is the most surreal thing I've ever experienced, that's for sure. I love every morning when I think how gross I feel and then feel a little kick and remember why (and yes, some mornings I forget, or it seems like a dream.) It's wonderful to wake up everyday with a smile on my face :)
I've had lots of requests for updates, but I'm not sure what to say. So I'm still pregnant. Yay! I've had absolutely no complications and have felt wonderful (until I got sunburned a couple weeks ago at Bear Lake...that's another story. I'll just say, it STILL itches! and hallelujah for apple cider vinegar!) Zach has valiantly been painting, adding molding, and closet remodeling the nursery. We just got the last major thing we were waiting for, our glider. We still need a few finishing touches, curtains and a rug mainly (and a baby, of course), but it's pretty much done. It's heaven to be in there. I will get pictures up soon, I promise. After we finished the messy part of the nursery we got down some of the things we've collected for our kids. Over the years I would let myself buy something once or twice a month as sort of my coping method. I would always say that I could always give it away at a baby shower, but I never did. Well, it adds up. Let me tell you.
But getting those items down and cleaned up, hung up, put in place. Ah. The sweetest experience ever. I get teary eyed just thinking about it. It's so awesome to look at our collection of goods (mostly clothes, tiny clothes are hard to resist) and try to picture our little girl in them. It's just completely unreal.
I had a 30 week checkup today, everything looked great. At 20 weeks Abbey measured a week bigger and he said the same today, we'll see.

Miss Serena is 2 weeks old, so I was braced for a long shoot. But she slept and slept, it was amazing! I've never had an easier baby, she was so pleasant and let me move here however I wanted :) Plus, she's just gorgeous! Her cheeks and all that hair, I am just in love!

We have been having so much fun around our house. We've been picking fabrics, paint colors, decor accessories, and started making our beloved trips to Lowe's and Home Depot. Let the nursery decorating begin! How we love home improvement.
We've also named our little girl. Abbey Mae. We picked out the name Abigail YEARS ago so it was easy. Mae is Zach's grandma's middle name. It could change, we aren't opposed to that, but for now we call her Abbey. I'll bet the only way it would change is if we meet her and that is just not her name, which I've been told can happen.

We ordered these prints for her room in blush and should get them any day now.

They are courtesy of Nella Designs on Etsy. Her prints are beautiful and I personally had a hard time choosing. Zach did not. He has always had a crush on Mary Poppins (a little one on Julie Andrews, but really more of one on Mary Poppins the charachter herself. She's a maid/nanny with a magic bag! She's elegant, has a lovely accent, and has the power to wisk you away into chalk drawings, and she's beautiful! How could you not love her? By the way, that is everything that I am not, haahahah! If I could choose one of those things to be/have, I would choose the magic bag.)
Anyway.
I love Etsy. I could look at the beautiful creations on there all day long. Don't tell my work, but sometimes I do.

Other than Abbey stuff, Zach is finishing up the spring semester and is about to start summer lawn maintainance (he starts tomorrow, le sigh.) And I have been busy learning piano accompaniments for our stake conference that is this Sunday. Our neighborhood has put together a choir and we get to perform! It makes me so nervous. I will be super busy this week practicing, practicing, practicing.

Any of you in the neighborhood that can sing or would like to, COME TO CHOIR! We need everyone that has the desire to come. Our last practice is this Saturday at 9 AM in the 1st Ward building. (email me if you'd like to come and need more details than that)
